Soapbox B-Roll #10: Ernest Goes to Wakanda

B-Roll #10

We find ourselves overwhelmed with projects again, so here's another bonus installment of Soapbox B-Roll!

B-Roll is an audio bridge of sorts between full episodes of Soapbox Office, featuring extra or expanded discussion left out of prior episodes in addition to brand new unedited conversation covering a wider range of topics and general day to day operations...

On this week's episode, we go through some fan mail and give some shout-outs, Josh fills us in on The Osbournes' podcast, new Parks Doc developments, and the other major feature film we've just started work on, Mitch talks Jessica Jones Season 2, Oscar snubs and fuckable Gill-Men, Death Wish (2018) and wonders what it would be like if Madea and/or Ernest found their way to Wakanda!

Soapbox B-Roll #7: Oscars So Boring

Oscar Break Down!

We again bring you another installment of Soapbox B-Roll as we prepare for our CA-AZ-TX road trip for the Michael Parks documentary!

B-Roll is an audio bridge of sorts between full episodes of Soapbox Office, featuring extra or expanded discussion left out of prior episodes in addition to brand new unedited conversation covering a wider range of topics and general day to day operations...

On this week's episode, Josh whines about losing his first Hate Debate while Mitch gloats in temporary revelry. We also go into the weeds of the Oscars as to who got nominated, who's going to win, and why we ultimately don't care. We also announce an upcoming new segment devoted to badass women in the industry!

Episode 48: La La Last Love

Throwback Musicals!

This week, Faults in the Vaults aims to take that which is old and make it new again with a pair of modern musicals with classic Hollywood sensibilities. We put a stop to the fools who dream in La La Land (2016) and attempt to resurrect Peter Bogdanovich's much maligned and criminally forgotten, At Long Last Love (1975)!

This Week in Torrents, Josh highlights a grouping of fun awards-themed MST3K specials. The Soapbox Rant aims its fury at the Oscars In Memoriam segment to shed light on the numerous egregious snubs and other mistakes.

Another installment of Where in the World Cinema?, takes a look at the cinema exports of Japan. Specifically, 1966's the groundbreaking and hyper stylized Yakuza film, Tokyo nageremono aka Tokyo Drifter, in memory of the recent passing of filmmaker Seijun Suzuki!

Also in this episode, more co-host sickness blues, Idyllwild scouting trips, brief Oscar recaps, and a discussion on the abstract merits of awards glory vs. the practical benefits of Raleigh Soapery!

Episode 6: Drinking & Drive-In's- Little Cigars

Tiny People, Big Movie!

There's a format shake up this week as a new monthly segment is unveiled, in which Josh & Mitch mix up some specialty themed cocktails, sit back, and take a look at a forgotten, overlooked, and unpolished gem from the heyday of exploitation cinema.

The guys talk about their Oscars viewing experience, which took place in between the commercial breaks of an Anaheim Ducks game.

Since it never has, and never will be released on home video, Josh picks the Lenny Bruce doc, Swear To Tell the Truth, for This Week in Torrents.
Drink Recipes

Snapchat has Josh & Mitch railing against the current state of media sharing and viral success in this week's Soapbox Rant.

And finally, for their first outing, Josh & Mitch walk you through the small wonder that is Chris Christenberry's Little Cigars (1973), the seedy noir tinged Snow and the Seven Dwarfs riff from American International Pictures that truly must be seen to be believed!
